“Moment of Softness was painted with a pallet knife. It was a winter morning along the far reaching fields near Clint, Texas just East of El Paso. There was water in them and the growth was pretty heavy. They were along some cotton fields that were plowed under and only the dusty pinkish dirt showed it had been a field. The morning was overcast and there seemed to be such a softness to the area. Using only a few colors to create this soft feeling was a joy and a challenge to feel the day.”
