“This painting was created from a photograph given to me by a friend. I don’t usually paint from other people’s photos or references, but this was an opportunity for me to share with this person his homeland, Russia, and how I might think it would be. I added a couple of different colors to my pallet to see if I could create a feeling relating to how he described his feelings of his homeland.”
