Roy loved to travel and especially loved touring his native state of Texas. His second wife, Judy, is from Canyon, home of the Palo Duro Canyon State Park. The Palo Duro is the second largest canyon in the United States.

Artistic license was invoked in the placement of the Goodnight Cabin. Charles Goodnight, the famous rancher and pioneer of the Goodnight Trail, did have a ranch in Palo Duro, but it was further south. Mr. Goodnight also had a dugout in what is now the state park.

24” x 36” original oil painting by Roy Lee Ward. The beautiful gilded gold wood frame is amazing. Brass nameplate attached to the frame. Ready to hang.
